Junior Manufacturing Technician


DRI Relays Inc., a Global Leader in Manufacturing, is seeking a high-energy technician ready and able to perform routine maintenance and daily set-up of production equipment in our Hauppauge facility. The Junior Manufacturing Tech modifies, rebuilds, repairs, or overhauls mechanical, electronic and electrical equipment and controls within our high precision manufacturing facility. They apply skills and knowledge of electronics principles while performing preventive maintenance, determining equipment malfunctions, and restoring equipment to operation. This position will also be trained in and perform mechanical support, set-up, and maintenance/repair of assembly equipment and tooling to assist with other manufacturing technician duties as needed. Basic Functions: • Services electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit modules, printed circuit boards, vacuum tubes, and similar electronic devices. • Receives wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions, either verbally or in writing, concerning emergency and scheduled repair, installation, and inspection work to be performed. • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment. • Equipment supported by this position includes: Laserwelding Equipment, Dielectric Test Equipment, Vacuum Pumps, Test Sockets, Fine Leak Equipment, Load Boards, Controlled Atmosphere Glove Boxes, Ultrasonic Cleaners Other Duties May Include: • Participate in related team projects as required. • Dresses electrodes & maintains welding assembly stations as required to insure proper welds • Performs inspection of piece parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards • Basic machining operations


  • Desired Skills/ Qualifications:
  • • Electronics or Mechanical Degree/License/Certificate or other formal education preferred
  • • Strong technical knowledge of electronics
  • • Minimum 2 yrs. related experience with electronic, mechanical, and other industrial instrumentation preferred
  • • Ability to transport, position and install various tools, equipment, stations, and/or production-related supplies using hand trucks, pallet jacks or carts as required.
  • • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a manufacturing environment preferred
